We rate wines on a 100-point scale, evaluating across four dimensions. Our ratings are absolute — a 92-point ruby is judged by the same standard as a 92-point vintage port.

Character
Distinctiveness, typicity, and memorability. Does this wine have personality? Does it represent its producer and region?
Value
Price-to-quality ratio. Is this wine worth what it costs? Would we buy it ourselves? Quality per dollar matters.
