Kopke White Port
From the oldest port house in existence, a smooth and honeyed white port that represents excellent everyday value.
Our Review
Kopke White Port is a pleasant, well-made off-dry white from the oldest port house in existence. While Kopke is better known for their superlative colheitas, their white port is a competent, accessible wine that represents solid value at its price point.
The nose offers dried apricot, honey, and light almond alongside white flowers and subtle citrus. It is gentle and inviting without being particularly complex. On the palate, the wine is off-dry and smooth, with honeyed almond and white peach providing the flavor core, gentle spice adding a touch of warmth, and soft acidity maintaining balance.
The finish is medium with a honeyed almond character and gentle warmth. It is easy-drinking and uncomplicated.
Kopke White Port is the white port to choose when you want something pleasant and affordable. It lacks the distinctive character of Churchill's or Niepoort's dry whites, but its smooth, honeyed profile makes it an easy crowd-pleaser. It works well in Port and Tonic cocktails and as a simple chilled aperitif.
